作為香港歷史悠久、實(shí)力雄厚的大學(xué),香港大學(xué)的歷史可以追溯到1910年。雖說(shuō)香港是國(guó)際金融中心,且備受歐美文化的影響,但香港大學(xué)卻蘊(yùn)含著濃濃的中國(guó)特色,從校訓(xùn)“明德格物”可見(jiàn)一斑。這源出《大學(xué)》的名句,至今仍影響著每一個(gè)港大人。

  香港大學(xué)十分注重培養(yǎng)學(xué)生發(fā)揚(yáng)民主,表達(dá)自我觀點(diǎn)的意識(shí)和能力,“民主墻”因此而生。這面看似普通的墻可供不同年齡、專(zhuān)業(yè)的人發(fā)表自己的觀點(diǎn),常常能看到學(xué)生們圍繞在“民主墻”下討論、交流,于無(wú)形中形成了一個(gè)極佳的交流機(jī)會(huì)。

|地理位置

香港大學(xué)校園本部坐落香港島西部的薄扶林道以東、般咸道以南、羅便臣道以西、龍虎山以北;牙醫(yī)學(xué)院及教育學(xué)院言語(yǔ)及聽(tīng)覺(jué)科學(xué)部位于西營(yíng)盤(pán)的菲臘牙科醫(yī)院內(nèi)。另有位于新界的嘉道理農(nóng)業(yè)研究所及香港石澳鶴咀的太古海洋科學(xué)研究所.

香港大學(xué)(The University of Hong Kong),簡(jiǎn)稱(chēng)為港大(HKU),是一所位處中國(guó)香港特別行政區(qū)的公立研究型大學(xué)。其奠基于1910年3月16日,次年3月30日正式注冊(cè)成立,是香港歷史最悠久的高等教育機(jī)構(gòu)。建校初期,香港大學(xué)規(guī)模極小,自1912年3月11日正式開(kāi)學(xué),到1916年12月舉行首次畢業(yè)典禮,僅有23名畢業(yè)生。第二次世界大戰(zhàn)爆發(fā),香港大學(xué)一度處于癱瘓狀態(tài),1941年教學(xué)全面中止;1948年4月9日復(fù)校后,秩序重建與結(jié)構(gòu)轉(zhuǎn)型并舉,學(xué)校步入高速發(fā)展的黃金時(shí)期。

|學(xué)校特色

香港大學(xué)美術(shù)館:

香港大學(xué)美術(shù)博物館座落般咸道大學(xué)東閘入口旁的馮平山樓,以及徐展堂樓底下三層;徐展堂樓展廳由徐展堂博士贊助建筑經(jīng)費(fèi),于一九九六年十一月正式開(kāi)放。香港大學(xué)早于一九五三年已開(kāi)始搜集博物館藏品。經(jīng)過(guò)多年來(lái)熱心人士捐贈(zèng)和大學(xué)購(gòu)藏,博物館現(xiàn)今收藏了超過(guò)一千八百項(xiàng)具有歷史價(jià)值的藝術(shù)品,這些藏品主要分為青銅器、陶瓷和書(shū)畫(huà)三類(lèi)。釉里藍(lán)點(diǎn)彩三足水注、明嘉靖青花孔雀花卉紋罐、三國(guó)青釉奏樂(lè)人物飛鳥(niǎo)堆塑谷倉(cāng)罐都是其中精品。

香港大學(xué)許士芬地質(zhì)博物館:

本館位于香港大學(xué)本部,轄屬本大學(xué)地球科學(xué)系,自2009年1月16日起對(duì)公眾開(kāi)放,為全港首創(chuàng)且唯一的地質(zhì)博物館。全館收藏了包括由已故許士芬博士捐出的稀有礦物收藏品在內(nèi)的近萬(wàn)件藏品,當(dāng)中展出950件礦物和300件巖石,并透過(guò)展出350具在中國(guó)各地發(fā)現(xiàn)的化石標(biāo)本來(lái)介紹地球過(guò)去超過(guò)45億年的變化;館內(nèi)收藏的云南澄江生物群化石、遼寧出產(chǎn)的保存完好的白堊紀(jì)熱河生物群化石,都是世界上重要的化石考古發(fā)現(xiàn)

香港大學(xué)饒宗頤學(xué)術(shù)館:

2003年,饒宗頤教授將數(shù)十年里因勤于學(xué)術(shù)研究而積累的藏書(shū),包括珍貴的古籍善本和其他書(shū)籍、書(shū)畫(huà)作品贈(zèng)送給香港大學(xué),藉此回饋香港。在已故的香港麗新集團(tuán)主席林百欣先生、饒宗頤學(xué)術(shù)館之友及眾多熱心人士的鼎力支持下,香港大學(xué)成立饒宗頤學(xué)術(shù)館,并于2003年11月8日開(kāi)幕。

The MHousMan degree programme has two streams of study, the Academic Stream and the Professional Stream. The MHousMan (Professional Stream) is recognized by the Chartered Institute of Housing and the Hong Kong Institute of Housing.
